Maturita exam preparation
Preparation for the maturita in Czech, English and German — the written test, the written paper and the oral part.
Czech
The Czech maturita has three parts and each is practised differently. The written test is about question types and timing. The written paper rests on being able to produce the required kind of composition. The oral exam follows a worksheet on a book from the reading list.
The usual problem is not lack of knowledge but that the student has never practised the format — and the test then catches them out.
English and German
For languages, preparation splits into listening, reading, writing and the oral part. We work with practice papers so the student knows what is coming and does not have to think about the format on the day.
Planning the time
Preparation works best spread over several months, leaving room for the written part and the reading. Cramming a week before the exam can rescue individual pieces, but it cannot build confidence.
